The stone bridge, called Taiko-bashi, spans the Meguro River and leads to “Gyonin Zaka”, a pilgrimage route to Meguro Fudoson.
At the side of bridge (where Meguro Gajoen now stands) is famous Shiruko (sweet red bean soup) restaurant “Shogatsu-Ya”, which was mentioned in the book " Onihei Hankachō”(series of Japanese historical novels written by Shōtarō Ikenami, and a popular series of jidaigeki based on it).
太鼓橋は目黒川に架かる石橋。行人坂から続くこの道は目黒不動尊への参詣道だった。
橋の袂（現在の目黒雅叙園）には「鬼平犯科帳」にも登場した汁粉の名店「正月屋」がある。
