Since 9th Shogun, Ieshige Tokugawa, it has become custom to present meat of the Tancho Crane to the Imperial Court as an ingredient for the New Year's morning meal.This is the feeding site.
They had hawks capture the cranes, split their bellies open (organs were given to hawks), stuffed with salt and sewed up, and ran day and night to Kyoto.
九代将軍・徳川家重から恒例化した正月の朝供御の吸物の具材として丹頂鶴の肉を朝廷に献上する「鶴御成」。

鷹に鶴を捕らえさせ、腹を割き（臓物は鷹へ）塩を詰め縫合し、昼夜兼行で京へ走ったという。
